Challenge PistenBully By Kässbohrer
April 2 and 3, 2025
French and Andorran snow groomers challenge each other in the Southern Alps
April 2 and 3, 2025, in Montgenèvre, the 25eChallenge PistenBully will be an opportunity for enthusiasts of extraordinary mechanics to see professionals and rare machines up close and in action, but also to highlight a profession like no other, passionately serving the life and economy of our mountains: snow groomer drivers.
In the mountain world, the National Challenge for PistenBully grooming equipment drivers is a highlight every 2 years, a classic. Over the years, this event has established itself as THE event not to be missed for ski slope professionals from all the French and Andorran massifs. Combining a sense of competition, feedback and technical exchanges, this Challenge highlights the know-how of more than a hundred snow groomers, their often impressive skill at the controls of their machine, by offering them the opportunity to defend the colors of their resort in games that are certainly friendly, but always competitive and of a very high level, under the seasoned eye of a volunteer jury of around thirty ski area specialists.
Beyond the sporting and rivalry, the PistenBully Challenge is a real forum for discussing major changes in the sector. From innovative engines to the challenges posed by the management of an increasingly unpredictable snow cover, there is no shortage of topical themes and liven up enriching discussions between experts.
For the general public, often unaccustomed to seeing these machines in action, the event is also a rare spectacle. Snow groomers, usually relegated to the shadows of the night, become the stars of a day, fascinating young and old with their power and precision.
Note that this year the snow groomers will use HVO fuel to reduce the carbon impact by 90%.
